Boston Massachusetts

My first trip to Boston! Spent the evening Saturday watching the planes fly over the water and land at Logan International Airport, had a fantastic dinner at D'Parma's and caught the moon balancing on top of Boston's skyline. Perfect end to the perfect day. 

Today we caught the bus and found our way downtown. We went to Quincy Market for lunch and ate outside, then walked to Boston Commons. Boston is beautiful! Can't wait to go to Fenway for the show!! 

Tonight we headed to Fenway Park. Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z put on an amazing show! We had the best time! 

Sad to leave this morning:( Had breakfast  at a cute corner diner and then walked down to the beach to find a couple rocks!

Hands down one of the best weekends I've ever had! Perfect weather, perfect location and perfect company! Until next time Boston...

Newport Rhode Island

In awe of the beauty in New England. This is my first trip to Newport and Boston and I couldn't be more impressed. Yesterday, we arrived in Newport. The weather was rainy and gross when we got there but we managed to hit up the Newport Winery and get a little shopping in. Today was sunny, 80 degrees and no humidity. We started our day by heading to the cliff walk which had a fantastic view of the Newport Mansions and the ocean.  Then we headed down to Bowman's Wharf to catch the Adirondack Schooner II Sailboat that tours the harbor. Sunshine, a cool breeze and mimosas. It was awesome! 

Today was sunny, 80 degrees and no humidity. We started our day by heading to the cliff walk which had a fantastic view of the Newport Mansions and the ocean.  Then we headed down to Bowman's Wharf to catch the Adirondack Schooner II Sailboat that tours the harbor. Sunshine, a cool breeze and mimosas. It was awesome! Next up, BOSTON!

Perfect weather to sit outside and read my new book. Perhaps when I'm finished I'll be inspired to start my own "Happiness Project" 

Slow Down Summer

The last two months have just flown by and you know when Muskifest rolls around that summer is almost over...how depressing. But its been great so far and Ive traveled up down the east coast and there is still one more trip to look forward to this weekend. Boston and Newport in five days:)

Watch Out Betty Crocker

I found a few recipes and thought I'd give them a shot. They all turned out so well and for someone who only ever used the microwave I'm pretty proud! 

Watermelon shaped Rice Krispie Treats

You just need a 9" round cake pan, Rice Krispies, marshmallows, chocolate chips and red and green food coloring! This was a huge hit!

Beach Bum Cupcakes

This is just a vanilla cupcake with whipped frosting and graham cracker crumbs. The teddy graham is on a piece of a fruit roll up. These were almost too cute to eat.

Student Teacher Gift

I put this together for my student teacher! It turned out so well and I thought I'd share! 

First, I purchased this teacher survival template from teachers pay teachers for $1.75.

Then, I was able to buy all the little things and put them together in a basket. I also included my two favorite books and a homemade class book that my students made saying why they knew my student teacher was going to be a great teacher and then we put their fingerprints around the border of the cover with their name. We also all signed a beach ball for her :)
